Andrew Ladd Builders (ALB), located in Southern Vermont was established in 1976 as a one-man carpentry organization. Over the last 30 years, the company has grown to include multiple crews comprised of full-time carpenters and an expanded network of sub-contracting specialists.

Andrew Ladd Builders strives for continual innovation, training staff and crews on the latest building technologies and informing clients of industry trends and best practices. Since its inception, ALB has completed a wide range of projects including traditional renovations, architecturally unique homes, and innovative applications of green building.

Our Team

Andrew Ladd, Founder

Andrew founded Andrew Ladd builders and led the organization for 32 years. He worked in construction for his entire career — across the nation, on projects big and small. His mastery of high-end custom projects and pioneering efforts in sustainable building propelled ALB's growth over years. His vision for the company continues to provide clients with best-in-class workmanship and excellent service.

Heidi Buxton, President

Heidi has been with ALB for almost 30 years and is in many ways the company's administrative backbone. Heidi has a Master's degree in public administration and has worked on complex projects throughout New England. Heidi knows the business inside and out and strives to provide clients with the support and flexibility they need to make their building dreams a reality.

Abe Crossman, Lead Project Manager

Abe Crossman has worked with Andrew Ladd Builders on a wide variety of projects for almost 20 years. His carpentry expertise combined with his superb mastery of overall construction project management has allowed him to managed teams of carpenters, architects, and subcontractors to create award-winning work with ALB. Abe leads multiple projects with proficiency and poise to deliver on budget and on time consistently.

Randy Distefano, Post and Beam Specialist

Randy is a master builder whose special expertise is in 18th and 19th century restoration, and post and beam structures. His more than 25 years experience and high quality craftsmanship add great value to the ALB team.

Josh Nichols, Carpenter

Josh has more than 10 years of carpentry experience and is a very skilled framing and finish carpenter.
